Regional Waste Education Officer

12-month contract


Salary $85,000 - $90,000 full time salary (part-time available pro-rata)

(Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience)

The Western Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (WSROC) represents eight local councils in the Greater Western Sydney region. With a reputation for considered policy analysis and advocacy, WSROC brings a collective voice to those issues which are crucial for Western Sydney’s growing population. WSROC’s ongoing commitment to the region is demonstrated by its advocacy initiatives, project work and joint procurement programs.


WSROC is seeking an enthusiastic professional to join the Western Sydney Regional Waste Coordination team. The team works with closely with nine councils to deliver regional waste education projects under the Western Sydney Regional Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Strategy.


You will work with WSROC staff, council staff, executives, elected representatives and other stakeholders to deliver regional waste education initiatives under the Strategy, aligned to the priorities of participating councils as well as State and Federal Government.


You will be responsible for the design and delivery of education and behaviour change programs and for consulting with Western Sydney councils to deliver effective resources, grant funding and media opportunities.


The suitable candidate joins a small team, and will have relevant qualifications, demonstrated experience, understanding of waste and resource recovery policies and be able to work autonomously to deliver outstanding outcomes for our member councils and the region.
