The Australian Federal Election 2016 is here. Western Sydney is always a focus of state and federal election campaigns.
Western Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (WSROC) represents nine Western Sydney local councils - Blacktown, Blue Mountains, Canterbury-Bankstown, Cumberland, Fairfield, Hawkesbury, Liverpool, Parramatta and Penrith.
During the election campaign period WSROC will advocate for a strategic, regional and inclusive approach to the hot issues and policies that arise. One in 10 Australians live in Greater Western Sydney. Our member councils are united in their calls for equity for the region so that the region's residents have equal access to transport, jobs, education, health services, as well as access to recreation and arts spaces.
Below are a list of key priorities areas that the WSROC election campaign will focus on:
As the election campaign advances this page will aggregate WSROC announcements, media releases and resources from our member councils.
