During 2015 and 2016, the NSW EPA, in partnership with a number of Western Sydney councils, offered a limited trial collection of loose asbestos fibro sheeting from residential homes (WSRADS).

The program successfully and safely removed over 92 tonnes of asbestos sheeting from Western Sydney households.

Participating councils included: Blacktown, Fairfield, Hawkesbury, The Hills, Holroyd, Liverpool, Parramatta and Penrith.

This project was a NSW EPA Waste Less, Recycle More initiative funded from the waste levy.
