pdf.png WSROC National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme- Operational Review HOT

Download

A number of councils in Western Sydney recycle electronic waste collected through their local government collection systems under the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme (NTCRS). Collection systems in the region include drop off sites at council facilities and council organised collection event days, as well as referral to collection sites operated by co-regulatory arrangements under the scheme.  Our councils are supportive of the initiative to recycle television and computer waste under a product stewardship arrangement, but are eager to see improvements to the delivery of this scheme to ensure councils have reliable access to recycling under the NTCRS.

pdf.png WSROC Western Sydney Airport EIS Review Submission- Waste and Recycling HOT

Download

The proposed airport represents a long-term waste generating source in the western Sydney area. Stage 1 of the proposed airport involves the initial construction and operation phases, with construction giving rise to the largest volume of waste in the short term. As leaders in waste management in the western Sydney area, western Sydney councils wish to ensure that there is an adequate consideration of the waste impacts that may arise from the proposed airport, in particular those that would have the potential to affect local government and its services.
