WSROC fully supports the need for a holistic housing strategy and are pleased to see the prominence of the four central themes of supply, diversity, affordability and resilience. Ensuring balance is achieved across these four themes will be the critical challenge to ensure safe, affordable and resilient housing for all. The general thrust of the discussion paper is promising, particularly the increased focus on resilience, which must be ingrained in the built environment. However, there are several matters pertaining to cost-of-living, resilience, urban design and waste management that require further consideration, and these are outlined below.
