WSROC strongly supports the introduction of mandatory minimum energy efficiency rental standards (MEERS) in New South Wales in its sumission to the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, and NSW Fair Trading.

Many renters live in homes that are too hot in summer, too cold in winter, more expensive to run and are associated with poorer health outcomes. These issues are particularly important in Western Sydney and other heat-vulnerable parts of the state, where extreme heat, housing stress and energy hardship can combine to create serious risk for households.
