WSROC, in partnership with the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, has established its Cumberland Plain Conservation Plan (CPCP) Compliance Support Team.
This team has been established as one of the commitments of the CPCP, published by the NSW Government in August 2022. The Team will be conducting a 12-month pilot to support the development groups, organisations, and communities within the CPCP area.
The CPCP Team comprises the Team Leader, CPCP Compliance Support Officers and a Grants Coordinator, and has two main objectives:
- Our CPCP Compliance Support Officers, Karthik and Reece, will be responsible for working with councils, to reduce instances of illegal native vegetation clearing while increasing the knowledge and awareness of the Cumberland Plains. The CPCP Officers will work to support councils with their roles and obligations under the CPCP to achieve the commitments and outcomes.
- Sarah, our Caring for Country Grants Coordinator, will be responsible for working with councils and local Aboriginal groups to develop programs and projects inside the CPCP area to enhance Aboriginal culture, and opportunities and benefit the wider community. Sarah is enthusiastic about working with these councils to develop some amazing programs for the benefit of Aboriginal people, groups, businesses, and communities.
The CPCP Team members bring a wealth of experience to WSROC from a range of roles and backgrounds. They are all passionate about conservation and developing programs that will benefit the people and the communities around the Cumberland Plains.
The CPCP Team is made up of dedicated officers who look forward to collaborating with various stakeholders to implement exciting programs and projects to drive culture and sustainability for the Cumberland Plains and Western Sydney.
