More than 68 regional waste initiatives were delivered last year. Councils are now turning to the priorities for the year ahead.
WSROC recently brought together representatives from eight Western Sydney councils and the NSW Environment Protection Authority to review progress against the Western Sydney Regional Waste and Sustainable Materials Strategy 2022–2027 and identify priorities for the year ahead.
More than 68 initiatives were delivered through the regional program over the past year.
Priorities for the year ahead include improving waste infrastructure planning, supporting waste avoidance, reuse and repair, preventing litter and hazardous waste, and advocating for policy and legislative changes that enable councils to deliver safe and efficient waste services.
