Reusable nappy education helps councils reduce waste

The WSROC waste team is currently delivering a regional education package to nine Western Sydney councils, on reusable nappies.

The program offers direct and ongoing support for participants using cloth nappies for up to 12 months.

Online community workshops are available, alongside a suite of resources to support residents and health workers troubleshoot the shift from disposable to reusable. Participants can also access fact sheets and a series of videos, to help build understanding around modern reusable nappy technology.

Online workshops are currently being held across the region. Resources will be available to the public via their councils, once available.

The program was developed by the Western Sydney Waste Educators’ group which is facilitated by WSROC, after identifying disposable nappies as a priority waste item with the potential to be avoided.

This project is a NSW Environment Protection Authority Waste Less, Recycle More initiative funded from the waste levy.
